5. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or delegated by the manager or physician.

Utilizes nursing process under the direction of the physician to provide care.

Contact with patients in an office environment. May be exposed to infectious diseases.

Prudent use of departmental resources and equipment

1. Provide direct patient care according to established policies and procedures under the direction of the physician.

2. Documents in the medical record, findings and information.

Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required.

Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in good standing

Current completion of the George Brown College Perinatal Intensive Care Nursing Certificate or equivalent education within one year of hire

Current completion of the Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Certification or willing to complete within 3 months of hire.

Current completion of S.T.A.B.L.E. certification or willing to complete within 6 months of hire.

Current completion of the Breastfeeding Resource Certification or equivalent certification

Minimum of 1-year current Level II NICU experience or recent related clinical placement
