Maintain professional certification and endorsements as required by King’s Schools and the State of Washington.

Experiment with new content, methods, and materials and file the best of these for future use.

Participate in and support the testing program as conducted by the school counselor.

Consider and adopt special programs, (chapels, field trips, guest speakers, and social events), using student initiative as much as possible.

Have at least two years of classroom teaching experience, ideally in an all-girls or independent school setting.

Ability to teach African-American History is an advantage.

Create and design dynamic, sequential lesson plans in line with the department’s philosophy on student-centered practices.

Establish close relationships with students individually to nurture their analytical writing, positive response to feedback, and incremental goal-setting.

Fulfill assigned duties to monitor students in various capacities, as designated by upper school protocols.

Clearly and effectively communicate with administration, faculty, students, and parents.
