Upper School World History Teacher Jobs in California

Experience with students with learning differences (such as ADHD) is a plus as well as mentoring experience.

Understand and support each student's Formal Education Plan (FEP).

Show evidence of adapting and differentiated instruction for all students and a classroom forum for holistic growth.

Maintain complete and accurate records.

Develop and maintain genuine, positive and consistent communication with parents.

The ability to nurture and encouragelife-long learning through joyful, authentic, and rich learning experiences

Experience with student-centered teaching and learning, including differentiated instruction for students across various academic and social backgrounds

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Fierce advocacy for students and their needs

A willingness to engage across difference with empathy and understanding

An understanding of your own identity and related positionalities

Knowledge of best practices in teaching social studies to high school students

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop an integrated, meaningful curriculum and student learning experiences.

Prior experience developing and facilitating Project Based Learning (PBL)

Bachelor’s degree in History or a closely related field

Ability to teach a range of courses in Social Studies, including U.S. History and/or Economics / U.S. Government courses
