They are also responsible for coordinating with other departments, such as the laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy, to ensure that all necessary tests and medications are ordered and received in a timely manner. The Unit Secretary is also responsible for maintaining patient records and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed and filed correctly. Additionally, they are responsible for answering phones, taking messages, and responding to inquiries from patients and their families.
