Registered Nurse Triage - Call Center Remote

Two years nursing experience preferred. Current RN license and CPR certification required.

Demonstrates effective communication using AIDET techniques on every call.

Serves as a clinical resource for other team members customers.

Prioritize calls, responds to patient communications and routes complete and accurate messages to the appropriate individual.

Handles escalated calls, resolving more complex patient issues independently and in real time.

Research complex clinical issues and work with support resources to resolve patient issues and/or partner with others to resolve escalated issues.

Preferred: Knowledge of electronic health record operating systems

Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice

Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and teamwork skills

Collects Comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or the situation (Assessment)

Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis)

UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Part-Time Triage Nurse to support the office remotely.

Prior pediatric office experience strongly preferred.

Assess the caller's needs; determines the seriousness and extent of the patient's conditions, concerns and current or progressive patient status.

Notify the designated after hours site with pertinent information should the patient be directed to such a site.

Respond to calls from patients/family members in a professional and timely manner.

Notify the patient's Primary Care Physician, reviews telephone assessment and obtains follow-up orders.
