Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

Mechanical, drilling, and/or related industry work experience is a plus

Must possess or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within six months of employment.

Have at least Three (3) years of verifiable work experience; AND

Must possess or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within six months of employment

Military, Corrections, or Probation Officer experience

A high level of time management, accountability, and prioritization skills

Trains other construction crew members on fiber installation practices, print reading, equipment operations, OSHA requirements, etc.

Performs OTJ training with Senior Foreman and/or Supervisors to grow skills in the utility construction trade

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Leadership skills; can lead construction crews on active jobsites

2+ years of utility construction experience acting as a crew leader and/or foreman required

Process Safety Management (PSM) certification for drill site / facility operations.

One (1) year experience using Process Safety Management (PSM) in the petrochemical industry.

Adhere to material requirements and specifications; have the knowledge to identify materials related to piping, structural and architectural designs.

Demonstrate support for the company's and client environmental management system.

Have the knowledge and skill to identify material needs related to piping, structural and architectural designs.

Must have knowledge to examine work and materials for compliance with job and safety specifications.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

Operate the drill rig efficiently

Prepare job and drill so that the shot can be performed safely

Pothole all utilities that will either be paralleled or crossed during the bore shot

Ensure full awareness of, and compliance with, the requirements of all relevant company/customer QHSE handbooks, QHSE procedures and emergency procedures.

Minimum of two to five years’ experience in a related field preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED) preferred.

Equivalent combination of experience and/or training.

Work as a Welder’s Helper:

Ensure machines are in working order and properly maintained.

Operator that is responsible for operating company equipment daily. Responsible for daily maintenance of machines.

Operates equipment safely and efficiently.

Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.

Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman, Supervisor, Safety Coordinator, or HR.

Follow daily procedures and protocols set forth in job orientations and trainings.

Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor.

· Assists with the technical certification program training for agency and external personnel.

· Completes the set-up and operates the soils sampling and testing equipment.

· Coordinates or assists with Gopher State One-Call and local utilities.

· Maintains, cleans, monitors performance, and safely operates the soils sampling, testing and support equipment.

· Assists in the completion of field in situ tests of soil strengths for foundation design.

· Records digital and handwritten field data and sampling information then downloads, organizes and archives this information.

Ensure housekeeping is in order and meets all DHEC and OSHA requirements

Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.

Maintain and operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner.

Ensure that the pole style and shop orders match.

Ensure all daily and weekly paperwork is completed and turned in.

Must be able to read and comprehend prints

Organization of materials to complete excavation requirements, which may include basic hand tools, mechanical and hydro excavation

A demonstrated working knowledge of telecommunications

Knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment

Knowledge of Underground Construction practices

Ability to perform and/or instruct entry level skills and practices as required

Effective listening, interacting, and writing skills

Directional Drill Operators / Locators

$24.00 to $36.00 an hour

1. Responsible for safely operating horizontal directional bore equipment for underground utility construction

2. Assist foreman and/or supervisors with all duties

3. Responsible for operating trenchers, plows, backhoes, and bobcats

1. Must have 2+ years of horizontal directional drilling experience

1. Responsible for safely locating horizontal directional drill heads for underground utility construction

2. Assist foreman and/or supervisors with all duties

3. Responsible for operating trenchers, plows, backhoes, and bobcats

4. Operate tampers, jackhammers, drills, and saws when needed

3. Ability to communicate with Teammates and Drill Operator

Individuals must be able to read prints and have knowledge of the underground process

The ability to manage and direct construction crew
