Overview Travel Cath Lab Techs are specialized healthcare professionals who provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients in a cardiac catheterization laboratory. They are responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including preparing patients for procedures, monitoring vital signs, and assisting physicians during the procedure. Detailed Job Description Travel Cath Lab Techs are responsible for preparing patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, monitoring vital signs, and assisting physicians during the procedure. They must ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and that the patient is comfortable and safe throughout the procedure. They must also be able to recognize any changes in the patient’s condition and take appropriate action. After the procedure, they must clean and sterilize the equipment and dispose of any waste materials. Job Skills Required Travel Cath Lab Techs must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals. They must also have excellent technical skills in order to operate and maintain the equipment used in the procedure. They must be able to recognize any changes in the patient’s condition and take appropriate action. Job Qualifications Travel Cath Lab Techs must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). They must also have experience in a clinical setting and be knowledgeable about the equipment used in the procedure. Job Knowledge Travel Cath Lab Techs must have a thorough knowledge of the equipment used in the procedure, as well as the anatomy and physiology of the heart and cardiovascular system. They must also be knowledgeable about the safety protocols and procedures used in the procedure. Job Experience Travel Cath Lab Techs must have at least one year of experience in a clinical setting. They must also have experience in operating and maintaining the equipment used in the procedure.
