Transportation Routing Manager Jobs

Previous experience in meteorology or maritime related background

Experience working in the shipping or maritime industry, specifically with ship or weather routing

Experience with observation and forecast data including WaveWatch III, HYCOM, and ECMWF.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, having communicated with customers around the globe

Experience working with team members across time zones

Bachelor's degree in oceanography, climatology, and/or geography.

Drives throughput and quality through use of performance management

BS or BA in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred

Manages daily headcount while adjusting to demands of the business

Minimum 5 years of experience in Distribution and Logistics

Experience managing collect and prepaid freight

Background knowledge in lean principles, Six-sigma, or ISO-9001

Proven project management skills: Able to manage and prioritize multiple routing projects while meeting deadlines and objectives.

Effective communication and presentation skills: Capable of communicating route insights to Sales Execution and Market Managers effectively.

Develop Reporting Suite: Create a comprehensive reporting suite for Managers, helping them understand and assess route execution for their teams.

Previous routing and/or logistics role: Prior experience in a routing or logistics role, preferably in a similar industry.

Report Building: Experience in developing reports to track and assess route execution and performance.

Preferred experience with Descartes software: Familiarity and experience with Descartes routing software will be an advantage.

Manage up to 200 routes each week

Drive solutions with best-in-class routing software developed in-house

Analyze, and help the organization digest, large sources of delivery data to reduce cost

Work cooperatively as a team with sales and transportation

Listen to the feedback of drivers and transportation supervisors to improve route logistics

Make quick decisions supported by facts to solve time sensitive problems

Manage and coordinate routes with surrounding school districts for students who are eligible under the McKinney Vento Act.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related work experience

Five years' experience working with special student populations/student transportation operations

2-3 years prior supervisory experience required

Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to effectively direct and manage personnel
