Develop professional work knowledge and abilities in one or more of the following areas:

Develop knowledge of the Company-s design, construction, QA/QC, safety standards and the Company document control system.

Coursework in statics/dynamics and experience with SolidWorks is a plus

Ability to complete the PDE Qualification-General template.

Initiate and maintain the PDE Engineering Qualification template for the appropriate Job Title.

Ensure that all activities are undertaken in accordance with all safety and quality requirements

Minimum 4 years experience in offshore construction industry, with a minimum of 2 years as a Rigger Leaderman

Previous experience as Rigger Leaderman/Rigger

Responsible for supervising project work operations via deck crew

Supervise the daily tasks of the rigging crew

Organize and distribute above deck activities for Rigging Crews

Industrial construction/maintenance industry experience preferred

Rate of Pay: $29.10, depending on experience

Assist in staging materials and necessary tools to execute each work activity

Assist in layout and measuring of materials for installation

Lie out and retrieve blocks and mats for equipment outriggers when needed

Assist operators and riggers with maintaining clearance while lifts are being conducted

High School Diploma/GED, or 5 years Maritime experience

One year minimum work experience as a rigger in a shipyard environment or

Must have a thorough knowledge of equipment used in rigging operations,

Must have knowledge of shipyard terminology such as general ship structure

Must have a thorough knowledge of USA Standard hand signals

Must be technically proficient in tasks, work processes, and safe use of rigging

You will assist journey level riggers to use rigging techniques to lift, move, and position equipment and materials.

You will assist Ship Restorers and Crane Operators to complete their tasks.

You will use written and/or oral instructions to determine work sequences to be followed.

Must be a US Citizen.

Knowledge of safe and responsible operation of tools and equipment used in rigging.

Knowledge of load permits and state and federal truck driving regulations.

Knowledge of shop structure, workflow, and procedures.

Introductory knowledge of basic vehicle and equipment maintenance and repairs.

Professional communication and interpersonal skills with regard to:Written and verbal communications.

Skill in inspecting equipment and rigging equipment for safety and maintenance purposes.

Live gas plant maintenance experience highly desirable.

You will assist in routine rigging operations.

You will place chaffing gear around easily damaged parts of a load or equipment.

You will clear crane passageways of any obstacles and warn nearby personnel.

You will secure and lash heavy loads to truck trailers.

In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery.

NCCER or equivalent rigger certification required

Estimating the size and weight of objects to be moved and deciding on the appropriate equipment to be used.

Erecting cranes, and mobile crane booms, and adjusting the height of tower cranes.

Lifting, positioning, and bolting components to build up the scaffolding.

Attaching sling equipment to load to be lifted.

Effectively and safely setting up the crane for the lift at hand.

Signaling the operator either by verbal, hand or radio communications.

Properly rigging and monitoring the lift for proper connection.

Monitor the crane positioning during the lift for obstructions and are deviations in the environment.

Safely complete the lift at hand and safely downrig the load.

Properly load the rigging and mats for transportation back to the the terminal.

Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved.

Attach load with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, and chains to crane hook.

Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenches.

Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.

Coordinate the movement of equipment and materials according to visual signals and directions.

Strong working knowledge of and experience working with rigging and lifting systems.

Sound knowledge of rigging skills.

Four or more years of experience in the industrial Rigging industry (petrochemical, power plant, cement plant) or related field

Able to effectively use verbal and written communication skills.

A general knowledge of standard rigging procedures and OSHA standards

Have basic knot tying skills.

Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management/ supervision

Responsible to complete and submit all required permitting DOT documents, when transporting large/heavy material/equipment

Furnish/maintain record of transformer and equipment transported and other records memoranda, as required
