Transfusion Nurse Coordinator Jobs

Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of laboratory techniques.

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related science field, from a regionally accredited college or university.

PRIMARY PURPOSE Responsible for basic specimen processing and testing to assist physicians in the diagnosis of patients.

Medical Technologist (MT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)

Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)

Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) - National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA)

Collaborate with RN Educator to ensure AMAP training, certification and supervision of AMAP’s within assigned region; complete AMAP Certifications as needed

Assume basic responsibilities during RN vacancy to include report writing, incident reporting and attendance at meetings.

AHA or equivalent CPR certification.

Experience supervising large numbers of licensed and direct care staff.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (include But Are Not Limited To)

Recent experience as charge nurse or equivalent management skills preferred

Demonstrated skills in teaching, communication, problem-solving, and project development/management required

2 years experience as registered nurse, with a preference for candidates who have prior clinical experience in dermatology or oncology

Demonstrated clinical competence and advanced knowledge in area of practice require

One or more years experience in ambulatory care preferred

Knowledge in specialty area of practice

Maintains appropriate records to facilitate accurate data collection and prepares required grant reports.

No holiday, weekend, or on-call responsibilities

RN license in any of the 50 states - active & unrestricted (not a remote position)

2 years RN experience preferred

AHA Basic Life Support Certification

Monday-Friday | 945AM - 515 PM

Two years of nursing experience

Review patient records for individual patient clinical issues related to transfusion.

Gather and review transfusion and transplant history to establish the patient transfusion profile.
