This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Operate a tractor-trailer to deliver merchandise from the distribution center to retail stores or other destinations.

Driver/Dockworkers work days, nights and/or weekends

Valid Class-A CDL license (commercial driver’s license) in home state

Pass a UPS road test, a DOT physical including a drug screen and all necessary background checks

Utilize various pieces of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including pallet movers and stand up forklifts to load/unload palletized freight

The ability to lift up to 70 lbs

Driver/Dockworker are expected to comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided uniform

Two years of experience is needed.

Operates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.

Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follow loading crew signals.

Arranges trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Ability to remain focused in a busy environment.

Determines condition of vehicle by inspecting vehicle before and after use; logging inspection; reporting requirements.

Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions.

Maintains safe work environment by following organization standards and legal requirements.

At least one-year related delivery experience and/or training

Possess a general knowledge of DOT regulations and proven history of safe driving.

Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills

When assigned to cover one of the remote domicile routes pay will include: travel cost/mileage allowance, hotel accommodations, daily meal stipend

Minimum of 6-months verifiable tractor/trailer driving experience.

Dedicated EVENING delivery routes, Monday- Friday

Will run local delivery route, (delivering rolling cages, totes & using pallet jacks) - easier than food service delivery

No overnight stays in the truck, hotels are booked for you

Stand and/or walk on concrete surfaces.

Climbing to heights of more than 24 inches with the use of a ladder and/or other climbing apparatus.

Go on road calls and make repairs as necessary.

Assist and instruct other mechanics in proper technique and problem-solving.

Report to my supervisor or lead person all problems that interfere with a safe work environment.

Perform other duties as required.

Minimum of 6-months verifiable tractor/trailer driving experience.

$228.00 to $277.00 Per Route; Pay is based on the driver’s daily route assignment.

Deliver finished products or raw materials to assigned destination

Ensure safety and compliance of load

Maintain DOT driver log and other required transport documentation

Pass DOT physical and DOT Road Test

Valid Class A CDL license (with HazMat/Double and Tanker endorsements)

Hauling consumer products and perishable consumer goods (e.g., transporting unstable loads or hauling different weights on different trip segments, etc.)

Maintain telephone or radio contact with Hub Manager or Office Administrator to receive additional instructions, changes to work locations, etc

Valid Forklift Operator Certification required

Estimated first year earnings: $92,000 - $105,000
