Job Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to deliver merchandise to Rite Aid stores in a timely and efficient manner. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid's brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.
Job Responsibilities

Description

% of Time Spent

  • Operate a tractor-trailer to deliver merchandise from the distribution center to retail stores or other destinations.

25%

  • Unload merchandise from the tractor-trailer; load returned store merchandise on the tractor-trailer and/or pick up loads from other locations (back hauls).

  • Deliver loads to the distribution center.

  • Interact with dispatching associates at the distribution center to communicate discrepancies with pharmacy and front end merchandise delivered to the stores.

  • Complete and submit trip related paperwork.

  • Perform pre-trip safety checks and ensure tractor-trailer is clean and fueled properly.

  • Comply with all Department of Transportation rules and regulations related to commercial driving.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, general business periodicals, operating and maintenance instructions/procedure manuals. Can speak effectively to customers. Able to type, prepare, copy, file, and keep records.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw, and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and trigonometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
