Network with teachers and families to create Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that help ensure success for kids who have disabilities.

Collaborate with the special education team to design and implement intervention strategies and programs.

Work with at-risk youth who need educational intervention to help them achieve success.

Master’s Degree Educational Psychology or School Psychology related degree.

Screen students for potential psychological issues and make recommendations for treatment plans based on this screening.

Administer therapy to children with developmental learning, or behavioral delays.

Strengthen design skills and experience in a multidisciplinary work environment;

Develop strong communication and organizational skills;

Gain a deeper understanding of the process of designing a museum exhibition;

Pay Rate Effective July 1, 2023 pending ratification: Step 1 - Step 8: $18.68 - $23.03

GRADE: G4 (Hourly Range/Step 1 - Step 8: $17.62 - $21.73)

You have experience as a camp counselor, athletic coach, or similar non-teaching role

Experience performing at an elite level (Division 1 sports, Presidential Scholar, etc.)

Responsible for planning and implementing Kanawha County Schools’ standards-based curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.

Responsible for implementing adopted and supplemental academic programs.

Be accountable for individual student achievement.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Serve as a case manager and oversee all Individualized Education Program (IEP) paperwork and student progress updates.

Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.

Manage a caseload of less than 20 students, depending on the setting.

Collaborate with general education teachers and other professionals to develop and implement appropriate accommodations and modifications.

LBS I (Learning Behavior Specialist I) certification is required.
