Surgical Technologist Training Program Jobs

Current Surgical Technologist Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

1-3 years of technical experience, required.

Performs sponge, sharp, and instrument counts with the RN according to policy and takes appropriate action when counts are incorrect.

Ensures appropriate and safe use of equipment and instrumentation prior, during and post-operatively.

Correctly holds retractors as prescribed by the supervising physician; anticipates the need for surgical equipment and supplies and secures same.

Checks and or troubleshoots equipment for proper functioning prior to use and removes malfunctioning equipment for repair.

Collaborate with management team to ensure training objectives are met with consistency and in compliance with the sales training strategy

Create and contribute to training efforts for development programs (e.g., Field Training Team, Leadership Development Program)

Other incidental duties: Create budget reports for project spend.

High School Graduate or Equivalent

Graduate of a recognized and accredited Surgical Technologist Program preferred

Currently certified for Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred

One year of experience required

High School diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program

American Heart Associate Heartsaver required

Post-secondary training or equivalent experience

CPR certified within 90 days of hire

Prepares equipment and instruments on the back table and Mayo stand utilizing sterile technique.

Performs sponge; sharps; etc. count with circulating RN ( if applicable).

Assists surgeon with gowning and gloving; draping and throughout the procedure with supplies and instruments.

Cuts suture material as directed; retracts and sponges tissue as directed by surgeon.

Preferred: 1-2 years prior experience in multi-specialty setting.

Required: BLS and willingness to work a flexible schedule and accountability to our standards of behavior.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

At least one year of previous health related experience preferred.

Proficient in technical and professional skills in assigned areas.

Stay abreast of advancements in surgical technology and techniques, actively participating in continuing education programs and trainings.

Certification or licensure as a Surgical Technologist (CST or TS-C) from an accredited certifying organization.

Demonstrated knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and surgical procedures.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Prepare and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies needed for procedures.

Must have graduated from a Surgical Technologist program. Experience in orthopaedics preferred. CPR Certification required.
