Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

Professional registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

Must be a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in Washington, DC, at the time of employment.

A valid driver’s license is required.

Pay Plan, Series and Grade,

Provides nutrition assessment, education and counseling to WIC medical high risk, high risk and low risk clients. Develops nutrition care plans.

Assists in the in-service education for WIC staff.

Participation in state group insurance (upon meeting eligibility requirements. Consult with People First and/or the serving HR office)

Acts on behalf of the Public Health Nutrition Supervisor or Senior Public Health Nutritionist during their absence.

Familiarity or experience with the WIC Program

Out-of-Country license/experience will not be considered to meet the requirements.

Experience will be evaluated on a verifiable 36 hour work week and must be post-license only.

Determine community health and/or patient education needs and participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of required programs.

Provide health and nutrition education to individuals based on assessed needs.

Assist in preparation and modification of appointment schedules and patient/participant flow.

This position is located throughout Riverside County.

The most competitive candidates will possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree

May be expected to travel to other locations.

Develops, plans and provides nutrition education.

Assists the supervisor in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the Nutrition Education plan.

Provides breastfeeding support, technical assistance, and education to WIC clients, breastfeeding peer counselors, and staff.

Schedules appropriate nutritional education visits to meet the assessed nutritional needs of the client.

Keeps current on nutritional research; interprets to professional and paraprofessional staff, its applications to the WIC program; attends meetings and/or conferences.

Keeps a variety of records; prepares verbal, written and statistical reports and correspondence.
