They may also be involved in research and development of new products, as well as providing technical advice and assistance to farmers, agricultural businesses, and other stakeholders. Detailed Job Description A State Chemist is responsible for the analysis and certification of agricultural products, such as fertilizers, pesticides, and other agricultural chemicals. They must ensure that these products meet the standards set by the state and federal government. They may also be involved in research and development of new products, as well as providing technical advice and assistance to farmers, agricultural businesses, and other stakeholders. State Chemists must have a thorough knowledge of chemistry and related sciences, as well as a strong understanding of the regulations and laws governing the use of agricultural chemicals. They must be able to interpret and analyze data, and be able to communicate their findings effectively. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team. Job Skills Required
