Create and maintain effective client relationships and assess regulatory environmental requirements in the Pacific Northwest.

1-3 years of experience as a wetland scientist, project biologist, or related discipline.

ArcGIS experience or willingness to learn.

Experience with Endangered Species Act compliance and/or PNW fisheries a plus.

Leveraging technology to support data management and visualization

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

0-1 years of professional environmental/remediation consulting experience

OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required after 30 days of employment

Coordination with task and project managers, working with on-site subcontractors and field staff;

Field duties may include drilling oversight, well installation, analytical sampling, gauging and surveying activities, operation and maintenance of remediation systems;

Assisting in the field sampling and testing of various environmental media;

Working knowledge of WV DEP, WV DNR, ODNR, OEPA, PA DEP, and USACE regulations

Experience with horizontal wells, shale plays, drilling, completions and producing assets in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania

Prior research experience focusing on remediation technologies, water or wastewater treatment, or sustainability. (preferred)

2 years of related experience or prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)

Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and the ability to become professionally licensed within five years of employment (preferred).

Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, WaterGEMS, or InfoWater. (preferred)

Fieldwork such as process water, wastewater, surface water and groundwater sampling, contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance;

Develop knowledge of job-specific federal, state, and local laws and regulations and assigned job specifications.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Performing routine fieldwork working under close supervision from field task leaders. Field work will mainly consist of groundwater sampling.

1-3 years of experience within environmental consulting or related field

40-hour HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification

Experience with Microsoft Office software

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or other closely related science field

Ability to travel for field projects up to 60-90% of the time

An environmental certification including Professional Wetland Delineator (PWD), Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), ISA Certified Arborist, or similar certification is preferred.

Knowledge of Virginia and Maryland environmental regulations and permitting is preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Plan and conduct field delineations of Waters of the U.S., including wetlands, and conduct stream assessments

Prepare delineation reports, functional assessments, mitigation plans, and Jurisdictional Determinations (JD) requests

Prepare permit applications under Sections 404/401 of the Clean Water Act and NPDES Section 402

Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology/Environmental Sciences/Natural Resources Management, Master’s Degree preferred

Interest in or Experience in Wetland delineations with a preference in Professional Wetland Scientist Certification

Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge

Work experience with environmental consulting services, natural resources assessments, GIS map preparation, wetland delineations, and regulatory permitting

Balances field and office assignments; strong organizational skills

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
