Staff Counsel Legal Intern Jobs

Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and time management skills

Project management experience or the desire to gain project management experience

Participate in agency outreach and trainings for business and public education.

One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar; or

Demonstrated excellent legal research, writing skills and negotiation skills

Able to effectively manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines and

Appointments are subject to Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval.

Compile, maintain, and perform analysis of data for compliance, investigations, and agency requirements.

Perform data entry, mail merges, copying, scanning, filing and other tasks to support attorney case work and other organizational efforts.

Excellent verbal, written and professional interpersonal communication skills.

Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Knowledge and understanding of litigation terminology and processes with the ability to read and understand legal rules and regulations.

Must be interested in writing, as well as politics, economics, world affairs, or a similar topic.

Documenting in computerized case management database

Meeting clients in the community (at home or in various facilities)

Effective verbal and written communication skills

The hourly rate is $21. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.

Interviewing current and prospective clients

Performing legal research and writing

Experience drafting pleadings is preferred

Assisting in research for legal briefs, complaints, motions, affidavits, memoranda, and other legal documents

Assisting attorneys with investigations in preparation for lawsuits and arbitrations

Assisting attorneys with drafting pleading documents, motions and cross-motions, discovery responses and demands, subpoenas, and other legal correspondence

Assisting attorneys in preparing for court and arbitration
