Must have 3-5 years of Cancer Registry Experience. Can complete Complex Abstracts within 90 min.

• Demonstrates complete technical knowledge of all areas of the Cancer Registry, i.e., State of California reporting

requirements, ACoS requirements, SEER staging, TNM staging, Patient Care Evaluation (PCE), data collection and patient

• Must have a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

• Familiarity with and knowledge of computers, i.e., CNExT, spreadsheet and word processing programs.

• A knowledge of general principles of statistical computation is mandatory.

Knowledge of the International Classification of Diseases for Oncology, Third Edition.

Exhibits a knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software and an acquaintance with other database software.

Exhibits strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Conducts follow-back of potential reportable cases identified during casefinding process through Sonoma (CRM), the electronic follow-back system.

Maintains electronic and paper case files undergoing the follow-back process.

Tracks responses to follow-back, interprets data received for completeness and dispositions each case appropriately.

Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience

Assists with epidemiological, behavioral, or medical research by abstracting cancer data for analysis by the local and state level.

This role performs case finding on an as needed basis.

Performs follow-up function to assure registry maintains at a minimum follow-up rates.
