Spanish Enrichment Teacher Jobs in New York

To teach in New York City, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Pay: $61,070.00 - $89,316.00 per year

Developing and/or teaching face-to-face, blended, online Spanish language and communications skills courses, including courses based on substantive topics.

Designing and delivering communication skills courses tailored to the specific needs of United Nations offices, departments and agencies.

Set and manage programme objectives in line with the objectives of the LCTU.

Developing and updating course curricula, materials and assessments (course projects, continuous assessment tasks, etc.), and correcting student work.

Meeting and corresponding with clients (students, departmental focal points, partners) to advise and provide individualized information, guidance and feedback.

Preparing and supervising the construction and the grading process of language examinations and tests.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to create interdisciplinary units that teach grade level content knowledge and skills through Spanish.

Establish, model, practice, and reinforce age-appropriate rules and logical consequences; create and consistently use individual behavioral management plans, as needed.

Use the state standards and curriculum to create a rigorous, objective-driven, arts-infused Spanish program.

Differentiate for individual students based on their unique learning needs so all students are appropriately engaged and challenged.

Ensure students are engaged through activities and technology that accommodate various learning styles, personality styles, and the need for physical movement.

Present content through a variety of instructional strategies to reach all learners.

Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.

Effective organizational skills including but not limited to lesson planning, implementing units of study, differentiating instruction, designing and implementing assessments.

Highly developed collaborative leadership skills and the ability to work well with and through others.

Minimum of two year’s High School teaching experience required.

IB Language A & B experience preferred.

Know and use a wide range of assessment strategies consistent with course content and objectives.
