Industrial sewing machine operation experience

Military Experience as an 92R, 921A, Rigger (Navy, Air Force, Marine, Army) (with an Honorable Discharge)

Operate production equipment to create items by approved methods and processes successfully

Interpret/read Manufacturing Work Instruction (MWI), Inspection Checklists (IC)

Read and interpret MIL-STD, work specification sheets, and drawings.

Place spool of thread on spindle of machine and draws thread through machine guides, tensions and eye of needle.

Insert bobbin into shuttle and draws thread through slot in shuttle or draws thread through guide and loop eye.

Industrial Sewing education or equivalent experience

The Industrial Sewer must have experience with single straight stitch, double needle and surger machine required

Communicates current product, process and/or material constraints and issues with the team/group leader.

With minimal supervision, sew specific material items per specifications prescribed on the Tiara Yachts work instructions

The Industrial Sewer must have the ability to read and understand sewing units of measures and sewing terms required

Performs other related duties assigned by team/group leader

Willingness to adapt to evolving job responsibilities and expand scope of experience as the company grows

Completes detailed instructions from job orders accurately and precisely

Sets up and adjusts machines for job runs to meet specifications

Monitors machines during job runs, checks precision or detail against specifications and takes action to correct any problems

Initiates the startup and running of jobs in keeping with production schedule

Adheres to safety guidelines and keeps work space clean and organized

Experience with sewing and sewing machines including, but not limited to, sergers and industrial-level machines..

Prior experience with clothing/fabric alterations, as a tailor, seamstress, or costume maker is helpful.

We only work 3-4 days a week! Our facilities operate four different 10 or 12-hour shifts.

3rd shift: Fri-Sun, 6am-6pm (+$1/hr. shift diff.)

2nd Shift: Mon-Thurs, 4pm-2am (+$1/hr. shift diff.)

Comfortable and capable of the following physical demands of this position with reasonable accommodation:

Manage all incoming repairs and create a label for each

Create stock movements according to rules defined with Finance

Check the spare parts quality

Create a picking list and allocate spare parts for every repair

Report and adjust any stock discrepancies

Inspect all repairs that are waiting for spare parts to ensure they have all information needed

Number all technical sketches to coincide with instruction steps.

Add shading to sketches to indicate fabric types and right and wrong side of fabric.

Sew samples to assure accuracy of illustration.

Sewing experience- preferably with vinyl upholstery materials

Sews various types of fabrics using manual and automatic sewing machines

Maintains sewing equipment and clean work station

Cuts fabric using hand held cutters and clicker press as needed

Performs light assembly as required
