Senior Representative – Purchasing Jobs in Texas

Demonstrated successful experience at a senior manager level with broad supply chain responsibilities

Develop negotiation strategies to reduce/eliminate supply shortages and provide cost management in line with AMD market share growth targets

Multi-source supplier network & outsourced manufacturing experience

Strong leadership and communications skills

Responsible for all aspects of cost, quality and delivery required to achieve revenue and margin targets for AMD

Understand AMD’s product roadmaps and work with our manufacturing partners to ensure costs are in line to support

8 - 10 yrs. minimum in purchasing or related field, with specific experience in procurement management

Establishes and implements effective procurement management leadership, systems, methods and procedures for the project or group

Participates in or leads supply management strategy development and implementation

Provides guidance on procurement management matters to project team. May participate in internal and external supply management presentations

Works with other responsible Supply Management leadership regarding development, implementation and support of Supply Management programs and procedures

Consults with Department management on critical project execution challenges

Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.

Manage stock and inventory planning including setting up safety stock and cycle count programs to ensure continuity of supply.

Manage and maintain relationships with contract manufacturers and key partners.

Negotiates and bids all requirements possible.

Coordinates purchasing activities with other departments to meet departmental resource requirements and maintain inventories at required levels.

Minimum of 7 years purchasing and planning experience, preferably in biotech and or manufacturing environments.

8 - 10 yrs. minimum in purchasing or related field, with specific experience in procurement management

Establishes and implements effective procurement management leadership, systems, methods and procedures for the project or group

Participates in or leads supply management strategy development and implementation

Provides guidance on procurement management matters to project team. May participate in internal and external supply management presentations

Works with other responsible Supply Management leadership regarding development, implementation and support of Supply Management programs and procedures

Consults with Department management on critical project execution challenges

Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).

Experience working in a public higher education purchasing environment or government purchasing experience, particularly experience with Texas agencies.

Knowledge of Texas Education Code Chapter 51 Subchapter T (Construction and Repair of Permanent Improvements).

Additional experience/education may substitute for education/experience on a one year for one year basis.

Within 18 months of hire, must possess one of the following required or preferred certifications:

Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM)
