Senior Network Technician Jobs

Reports to the NOC Manager, or the Run or Build Manager of Network Services.

Interacts with others to resolve issues within a timely manner.

Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots network services and devices.

Interacts with customers to resolve network issues.

Has strong technical aptitude about troubleshooting and testing activities related to network services.

Performs other duties as required.

Experience using and operating test equipment (remote) and diagnostic software.

Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of relevant experience in network communications.

One or more years of experience in provisioning and network connectivity activation for Layers 1, 2, and 3.

Experience with TDM/SONET/Ethernet design, engineering, and provisioning.

Experience with digital and SONET Transport - T-1, T-3, OC-3, OC-12, OC-48.

Experience installing and configuring CPE/CTE from a variety of vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, and Overture equipment.

·Experience in Network Access Control, Cybersecurity, global company experience

·10+ years of experience managing enterprise network infrastructures.

·Experience with Cisco Networking, Cisco Firewalls, Cisco Routers, LAN, WAN, and nodes.

·Expert-level experience in networking principles and protocols such as IP subnetting, routing, security and encryption, DNS, etc.

·Experience architecting network infrastructure that adheres to compliance frameworks

Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities for the position.

Review business requirements against hardware capabilities to ensure the solution provided meets the requirements in a cost-effective manner.

Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving procurement, management, and disposal of network related hardware. – Network Technician only

Minimum 1 year of related work experience. – Network Technician only

Minimum 3 years of related work experience. – Senior Network Technician only

The following certifications are preferred (Senior Network Technician only):

Under direct supervision, applies knowledge of telecommunications and/or data communications and/or radio communications equipment and services which best serves the customer

Resolves routine issues regarding operations, including administration, installations, setups, error messages, on-line transactions, system status, and operations procedures

Provides preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and quickly resolves moderately complex problems to ensure user satisfaction

Performs own work and provides assistance to others as directed

Job tasks, correctly performed, have minimal impact upon the viability of the organization

Error is readily ascertainable by the supervisor and can be corrected

Detail-oriented with advanced project management skills, handling issues like prioritization, resource management, and time management.

Ability to communicate and present vision(s) to all management levels and any required experts.

Meeting with engineering teams to discuss their applications, systems, and networking requirements and making themselves available to advise and consult.

Evaluate current security aspects of the environment and ensure compliance with corporate requirements.

Proven experience working as a network architect.

Detailed knowledge of WAN and LAN networking systems and software.

Operational knowledge of network management tools/systems

Experience with multi vendor network switchers and routers and ability to navigate within and make changes to the configuration.

Experience using Tier I & Tier 2 test equipment is needed.

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Demonstrated experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environment

Will be assisting with the network refresh, rack and stack equipment and help with migrations.
