Senior Athletic Trainer Jobs in Utah

Onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses including: prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation.

Accountability Act (HIPPA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Previous Gymnastics or Performing Arts experience preferred.

Must be BOC certified and possess Utah state athletic training licensure, certification or registration.

Assist with scheduling and organizing team pre-participation physicals and review of athletes' health history. Assist team physician(s) with orthopedic screenings.

Assist in annually providing students and parents/guardians with written information regarding the University Athletic Injury and Insurance and Claims Policy.

National Athletic Trainers Association Certification.

First aid and CPR Certification.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Communication skills using the spoken word

Perform all other duties as may be required.

Master’s Degree in related field from an accredited institution required.

Organizes educational lectures (e.g. drugs and alcohol, sex, nutrition, and coping skills) for student athletes

Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development

Experience working in team athletics or other related experience

National Athletic Trainer Association Board Certification

Updates student athletes, coaches, athletic administration, parents, doctors, and support staff on athletes' injuries and illnesses

Works with team physicians to determine athlete's eligibility to return to practice and/or competition

Room patients and obtain all pertinent medical history from patients/parents.

Apply custom casts as well as removal of cast.

Removal of surgical pins, sutures and other post-operative dressings in clinic.

Scribe clinic notes in EMR with minimal mistakes.

Fit and instruct patient how to use braces, boots, crutches, splints and any other DME.

Collect any pertinent medication information from EMR for future clinics.

Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians.

Prior experience in ambulatory health care facility preferred

Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding

Undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program

Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards.

CPR certified within the first 3 months of employment

Maintain BOCNATABOC Certification Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every reporting period, as required.

Providing education to athletes, coaches, and parents about injury prevention, nutrition, and other health and wellness topics.

Board of Certification “BOC” for athletic training NATABOC Certification, required.

A minimum of one year of relevant athletic training experience is required.

Appropriate Emergency Cardiac Care certification as required by the BOC.

A manual therapy certification preferred

Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide the care needed by pediatric, adolescent and adults;

Maintains technical and professional knowledge current with the latest theory and techniques of sports and physical medicine;

Knowledge of the general principles and techniques of physical care for athletes;

Knowledge of medical office procedures.

Incumbents are required to possess and maintain certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and CT State Athletic Trainer license

Must be able to stand for long periods of time, have good mobility skills and be able to walk long distances.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with individuals at all levels of the university

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Organized with meticulous attention to detail

High integrity and ethical standards

Must have a valid Drivers License

Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Principal Grant Investigator.
