Overview A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Writer is responsible for creating and maintaining safety data sheets for hazardous materials used in the workplace. The SDS Writer must be knowledgeable about the regulations and requirements for creating and maintaining SDS documents, and must be able to interpret and apply the regulations to the specific materials used in the workplace. Detailed Job Description The SDS Writer is responsible for creating and maintaining safety data sheets for hazardous materials used in the workplace. The SDS Writer must be able to research and compile information from a variety of sources, including manufacturers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies, to ensure that the SDS documents are accurate and up-to-date. The SDS Writer must be able to communicate effectively with other departments and personnel to ensure that the SDS documents are properly distributed and used. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of safety regulations and requirements for creating and maintaining SDS documents
• Ability to interpret and apply regulations to specific materials used in the workplace
• Ability to research and compile information from a variety of sources
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., chemistry, environmental science, safety, etc.)
• At least two years of experience in a related field
• Knowledge of safety regulations and requirements for creating and maintaining SDS documents
• Ability to interpret and apply regulations to specific materials used in the workplace
• Ability to research and compile information from a variety of sources
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
