Residential Care Counselor Jobs in Iowa

Knowledge of Salesforce and to learn a proprietary case management system.

Providing troubled employee consultations & critical incident stress management for client organizations.

Succeeding as a Client Care Counselor will require the following core qualifications and skills

Excellent risk assessment skills, and an ability to adapt quickly to a client's changing needs.

Strong clinical judgment and an understanding of your responsibilities with confidentiality.

Experience working with substance-related & addictive disorders is an asset.

Perform basic patient care activities of daily living as delegated and supervised by an RN.

Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.

Assist with keeping patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly

Certified as a residential care specialist or personal support specialist. (Required within 120 days of hire)

Ability to effectively respond quickly to change

II. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Supervises the daily routines of the residents including working towards their goals, community activities, and medical requirements.

Maintains current certification in Medication Administration.

Performs other duties as directed by the Manager or his/her designee.

Ensures that individuals have a clean, neat, and safe environment at all times.

Ensures that individuals participate in all required/scheduled meetings, appointments and daily activities.

Serves as a knowledgeable University and community resource and refer residents as appropriate

Communicates clearly with students, supervisor, and campus partners through written, verbal, and nonverbal interactions

Knows and utilizes available resources, including Residential Life and Housing staff, campus partners, and community resources

Contributes to the success of the department by addressing individual and group needs

Collaborates with peers through duty shifts, building wide programs, and other team initiatives

Establishes oneself as a leader among peers by developing and maintaining relationships with individual residents
