Job Responsibilities
We are seeking to fill two (2) vacancies for a Student Residential Counselors (RC) that have great customer service skills, energetic and enthusiastic about working with students with a positive attitude and time management skills.
Key duties include:
- Facility managements - RCs works with other hall staff and peer mentors to ensure that there are no facility issues on their floor. RCs are required to complete room inventory checks and safety checks on a regular basis.
- Administrative tasks - RCs are required to complete weekly reports and programmatic paperwork, administer surveys and assist with check-ins and check-outs of residents.
- Resources and educations - As a peer helper, RCs connect residents to other campus opportunities to promote a positive Campus Innovation experience.
- Community developments - RCs create programs and activities designed to meet the needs of residents on the floor. As a community developer, RCs also hosts floor or building meetings, as well as have meaningful interactions with community residents and encourage community involvement.
- Emergency responses - RCs provides the primary response to emergencies within their hall. While each RCs will have designated duty nights, staff are expected to assist whenever they are in the building.
- Policy enforcement/safety - RCs are attentive to resident safety and hall security, as well as ensure residents follow College housing policies to maintain a respectful environment. RCs educate residents on their actions and decisions while informing them about how their actions impact an entire community.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
High school diploma required with at least one (1) year of related experience working in a residence hall type environment.

- Responds to and mitigate conflict and crisis situations learning
- Empowers residents to build relationships with students, faculty, and staff throughout the campus community
