1-2 years of research experience

Collects and records study data. Inputs all information into database.

Assists in preparing grant applications, IRB/GCO for submission and filings.

Secures, delivers and ships clinical specimens as required by the protocol.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Science or closely related field.

Bachelors degree or greater preferred, or a combination of applicable experience and education

3+ years experience (5 preferred), managing and administrating program activities for assigned area

Develops and independently implements new or revised program goals, strategies and objectives to sustain and grow programs and services.

Administers program procedures and systems. Ensures information is disseminated to staff regarding program and Mount Sinai Medical Centers policies and procedures.

Takes an active role in developing the program budgets and grants. May monitor, verify and oversee the reconciliation of budget expenditures.

Hires program staff, is responsible for performance appraisal evaluations, promotions, transfers and other personnel transactions as assigned.

Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, update protocols, and participate in lab meetings and appropriate scientific meetings.

Assist lab members in preparing grants, manuscripts, and animal protocols.

Helps order lab chemicals, maintain lab instruments and support research projects.

Oversee the training of new/junior summer students in the lab.

BS in Biology or related fields or MD

Ensures accurate and complete compilation of subject data through chart reviews.

Independently obtains informed consent for other clinical studies.

Mentors Clinical Research Coordinators in training.

Manages databases, conducts statistical and genomic analysis, and participates in the preparation of manuscripts and presentations.

Writes custom scripts for analysis of genomic data derived from high-throughput techniques.

Designs and implements bioinformatics tools and processes in order to analyze large scale datasets.

Identifies and resolves technical issues and proposes upgrades to current software.

Develop projects and work independently on a variety of bioinformatics analysis projects.

May be involved in sequence and structural analysis, data mining, or statistical modeling.
