Rehab Technicians provide support and assistance to patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and private practices. Detailed Job Description Rehab Technicians are responsible for providing support to physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other rehabilitation specialists in the delivery of rehabilitative services to patients. They help patients with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities to improve their quality of life. Rehab Technicians may assist with patient assessments, provide patient education, and help with the implementation of treatment plans. They may also assist with the preparation of equipment and supplies, and provide support to patients during therapy sessions. Job Skills Required Rehab Technicians must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well with a variety of patients. They must be able to follow instructions and work independently. They must also be able to work with a variety of medical equipment and supplies. Job Qualifications Rehab Technicians must have a high school diploma or equivalent. They must also have a valid certification from an accredited program in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or a related field. Job Knowledge Rehab Technicians must have a basic understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as an understanding of the principles of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other rehabilitative services. They must also have a basic understanding of medical terminology and the use of medical equipment and supplies. Job Experience Rehab Technicians must have at least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting.
