Registered Nurse Interventional Radiology Jobs in Texas

Previous leadership experience with demonstrated management ability is preferred.

Collaborates with HR staff/leadership re: personnel management as appropriate.

Assist the Clinical Manager in monitoring radiation exposure. Ensure the proper placement and daily wear of badges. Perform routine badge exchange.

Provide instruction and education to the patient before and after the procedure.

Assist with and react appropriately to any emergency care needs of patient, work with entire team to manage patient care.

Maintain and update eCW Inventory system working with Clinical Manager adding/updating new or existing products. Participate in Quarterly Inventory count.

Maintain confidential resident files and monitor records of resident attendance for all required educational activities, including conference and other didactic experiences.

Manage, monitor and document the residency/clinical fellowship and faculty evaluation process.

Review and evaluate applications for completeness; compile recruitment information, distribute applications, notify applicants of decision for interview.

Track work hours, resident activities and schedules; maintain, update and distribute resident rotation, vacation, and leave schedules in electronic systems.

Monitor and document the residency evaluation process.

Communicate regularly with residents and faculty regarding the daily activities, such as conferences and ground round announcements.

Reports equipment errors and malfunctions to DI Service Line and IR Management

Reports any medical supply variance to the IR Supervisor/ANM and/or IR Technologist/Nurse Manager.

Demonstrates clear communication skills and provides accurate, complete information to patients, peers, faculty and other clinical staff.

Knowledgeable and adheres to all Joint Commission and patient safety polices

2 years of critical care experience is preferred

Total Joint & Spine Center initial and annual education: 0.70 hours

Current State of Texas License as a Licensed Vocational Nurse

ACLS required within 18 months of date of employment in the Radiology.

Participates and leads continuing education in-service programs, reads professional publications, reviews procedure manuals and attends trainings

R-ARRT - Licensed Radiography Certification from the American Registry of Radiology Technologists

Preparation for procedures and assessment of factors that may contradict the procedure

Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure to the patient, family, and others

Documents fluoroscopic time and radiation exposure

Ensures the patient is in a safe environment, free of hazards

Responsible for precise, complete and accurate data entry and image management in appropriate technology infrastructure: EPIC, PACS, etc.

Provides information to patients, health care providers, students and the public concerning the role and responsibilities of individuals in the profession

Demonstrating population appropriate care with all patients, appropriately prepares patients for procedures

Assists radiologist with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures

Applies principles of ALARA, including use of technical factors according to technical specifications, to minimize exposure to patient, self and others

Responsible for quality control activities on the equipment and collaborates with appropriate parties to resolve image quality issues

Experience: Currently working and able to work independently in the Interventional Radiology: Angiography Clinic.

Must have over 5 years of Interventional Radiology Angiography work experience.

Other: Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is encouraged.

Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract.

Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology Nurse

Required: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a practicing RN

Preferred: Two years or greater nursing experience in a medical imaging department

Preferred: Specialty nursing certification applicable to medical imaging ACLS certification

Preferred: Windows computer experience, RIS experience

Required: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
