Overview A Recreation Activities Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading recreational activities for individuals and groups. They may work in a variety of settings, such as parks, recreation centers, schools, and community centers. Detailed Job Description A Recreation Activities Specialist is responsible for creating and implementing recreational activities for individuals and groups. They must be able to plan, organize, and lead activities that are both fun and educational. They must also be able to assess the needs of the participants and adjust activities accordingly. They must be able to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants. Job Skills Required• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with a variety of people
• Ability to plan and organize activities
• Knowledge of safety protocols
• Ability to lead and motivate others
• Knowledge of recreational activities
• Ability to assess participant needs
• Knowledge of local resources
• Ability to work independently
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, physical education, or a related field
• Previous experience working with groups or individuals in a recreational setting
• Certification in first aid and CPR
• Valid driver’s license
