Quality Welding Inspector I Jobs in Colorado

Have a basic understanding of welding techniques, positions, consumables, weld preparation, drawing requirements, and maintain a detailed inspector's logbook

Assure any design changes or material substitutions are discussed with the Construction Manager, Chief Inspector, and proper Company approval is obtained

Verify all materials used in the installation comply with Company requirements

Weld Inspector may be assigned additional duties and responsibilities relating to pipeline construction inspection observation and documentation

Ensure compliance with all project-specific environmental requirements

Obtain Operator Qualification (OQ) status as required by the project

High School Education or GED preferred. Three months of experience using the skills described above

Must have mathematical skills, i.e. subtraction, addition, multiplication, and division.

Measure parts per blueprint with tape measures, vernier, dial and digital calipers, micrometers, indicators, and height gages

Measure and visually examine welds for workmanship

Perform basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers and fractions

Perform simple conversions such as millimeters to inches, kilograms to pounds, fractions to decimals, etc.

Basic computer skills and learn new software applications to monitor and document non-conformances

Ability to adapt to changing requirements and methods

Willingness to learn new skills and methods to verify product quality

2+ years of electronics' experience minimum preferred

Experience with measuring devices preferred

Will be provided with recurring certification for industry standards

Minimum requirements as outlined by AWS for obtaining a CWI certification

Write qualifications for each welder on-site and the procedure qualifications for the welders

Other miscellaneous duties and assignments as directed by the operations manager

Responsibilities for certified welding inspector

Perform welding as required by customer specifications, prints, or AWS welding code

Perform visual inspection of structural steel at various client locations.
