Description:

Job Summary:

Prepare inspection plans from blueprints and perform visual and dimensional inspections on fabricated and machined parts. Help in the RT booth that can move parts, set up shots, and clean the processor.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain a safe environment
  • Perform simple conversions such as millimeters to inches, kilograms to pounds, fractions to decimals, etc.
  • Measure and visually examine welds for workmanship
  • Measure parts per blueprint with tape measures, vernier, dial and digital calipers, micrometers, indicators, and height gages
  • Perform basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers and fractions

Essential Mental Functions:

Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work situations. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people. Ability to give, receive, and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials, and articulate goals and action plans. Must be able to communicate in a professional manner. Ability to receive and analyze data and input into the computer. Must be able to work favorably in a high-stress environment.

Essential Physical Functions:

Must be able to lift 51 pounds from floor to table height. Must be able to physically position oneself on large parts and in confined spaces. Must be capable of reading J1 letters for near vision and 20/30 far vision with or without corrective lenses.

Safety Requirements:

  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the employer’s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
  • Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others

Tooling Required:

  • Pocket calculator
  • 25’ tape measure

Availability:

  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
  • Must be available and willing to work overtime as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Travel:

Must be available and willing to travel as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Working Conditions:

Noisy shop environment 70% of the time. Office environment 30% of the time. May be required to work overtime.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have mathematical skills, i.e. subtraction, addition, multiplication, and division.
  • Must maintain an acceptable safety record.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Must be a team player and be able to effectively interrelate with production personnel and customers.
  • Ability to discern between different material forms, alloys, and grades.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Education or GED preferred. Three months of experience using the skills described above
