QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Or a combination of training and/or experience which evidences a comprehensive knowledge of the required job duties and expectations.
Coordinates daily with contractors, excavation crews, utility managers, and city personnel to discuss utility location issues.
High School graduate or equivalent, competent training and certification from a technical or vocational school; AND
Accurately locating and marking various City-owned utilities including water, wastewater, reclaimed, and stormwater.
Utilizes utility maps and blueprints to assist in the identification of underground utilities.

Overview Public Works Laborer is a position that involves performing a variety of manual labor tasks related to the maintenance and construction of public works projects. These tasks may include digging trenches, laying pipe, operating heavy equipment, and performing general maintenance and repair work. Public Works Laborers must be able to work in all weather conditions and be able to lift and carry heavy objects. Detailed Job Description Public Works Laborers are responsible for performing a variety of manual labor tasks related to the maintenance and construction of public works projects. These tasks may include digging trenches, laying pipe, operating heavy equipment, and performing general maintenance and repair work.
