Prototype Vehicle Fabricator Jobs

Provide feedback to engineers, other fabricators and management on design and process improvement

Proactively communicate with engineers, management, and other team members through verbal, email, text, phone, and other internal electronic communications

Extensive knowledge and experience with shop tools/machines (drill press, bandsaws, belt sanders, H-Press, Oxy-Acetylene torch, hand tools etc.)

5+ years of experience in welding (must include TIG and MIG)

5+ years of experience in manual machining (Lathe and Mill)

Extensive knowledge of sheetmetal design and fabrication

Minimum 4 years of licensed driving experiences

Excellent PC skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Operate a vehicle in a designated area for data collection

Start/Stop recording devices and do minor equipment/software debugging when necessary. Analyze/report data collected during shift

Provide feedback and suggest improvements to improve data collection processes

Write daily drive reports detailing observations and issues

Minimum 4 years of licensed driving experiences

Excellent PC skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

3+ years minimum of Fabrication experience

Fundamental data analysis and signal processing skills, and experience with relevant languages and tools (e.g., Python, C, C++)

Basic experience with Computer-Aided Design software (e.g., SolidWorks)

Experience using electronic lab test equipment

Experience with testing and evaluating components and systems in both lab and field environments

3-5+ years of experience in buying, supplier quality, or a function

Procurement of Prototype material from existing Volvo and potential “rapid prototyping” suppliers in compliance with the Volvo authorization directives.

Aggressive and diligent follow-up of requisitions, P.O.’s, and ultimately the delivery of parts.

Participate in quality, cost, and time saving processes & initiatives directed at optimizing prototype builds and testing.

Lead Prototype Vehicle Fleet Management

Meet with suppliers that require machine and fab expertise to bring their part quality up to our spec, standards, and requirements

2 year technical trade school in metal fabrication or 10+ years experience in related field

Competent analytical, problem solving, judgement, decision-making, and prioritization skills
