Job Summary and Primary Responsibilities

Program and operate Haas 3,4, and 5 axis machining centers

Program and operate 3+2 Robodrill

Program and operate variety of CNC lathes

Perform complex set-ups and fabrication of prototype machined parts independently

Read and interpret engineering drawings, and provide feedback regarding manufacturability to design engineers

Minimum 4 years of licensed driving experiences

Excellent PC skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Operate a vehicle in a designated area for data collection

Start/Stop recording devices and do minor equipment/software debugging when necessary. Analyze/report data collected during shift

Provide feedback and suggest improvements to improve data collection processes

Write daily drive reports detailing observations and issues

Minimum 4 years of licensed driving experiences

Excellent PC skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Experience with 2D/3D CAD and CAE (Siemens NX preferred)

You will serve as the principal subject matter focal point between hardware design and prototyping

You will collaborate with experts in AI, Mechatronics, and Telematics throughout Brightdrop

Fundamental data analysis and signal processing skills, and experience with relevant languages and tools (e.g., Python, C, C++)

Basic experience with Computer-Aided Design software (e.g., SolidWorks)

Experience using electronic lab test equipment

Experience with testing and evaluating components and systems in both lab and field environments

Experience reading and interpreting engineering documents such as process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)

Experience generating fluid system designs from upstream documents in an autonomous environment

Experience working with prototype systems in an environment requiring rapid design and deployment

Experience sizing equipment and pipe assemblies for multiphase flow and working with hydrogen fueling and fuel cells.

Perform engineering analysis to support your designs, including calculations for flow rate and pressure drop, heat transfer, and static structural loading.

Select process equipment for fluid systems including pumps, valves, heat exchangers, compressors. Size piping and select appropriate fittings for piping assemblies.

Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills

Manual milling, turning, and grinding experience

Effectively manage assigned commodities in support of GTT Prototype Operations.

3-5+ years of experience in buying, supplier quality, or a function

Procurement of Prototype material from existing Volvo and potential “rapid prototyping” suppliers in compliance with the Volvo authorization directives.

Aggressive and diligent follow-up of requisitions, P.O.’s, and ultimately the delivery of parts.

Participate in quality, cost, and time saving processes & initiatives directed at optimizing prototype builds and testing.
