Starting an IT PMO from scratch; ability to drive process transformation across multiple departments of a mid scale technology organization

Manage and run the day-to-day operations of the Project Management Office (PMO), including

Product expertise using and building up, project management tools like JIRA, Planview, Smartsheet or alike.

Business Requirements Gathering and Solutions

Responsible to work with business to manage intake, ideation, scoping and governance planning.

Experience setting up and running a PMO for a mid-large size IT organization.

10 years of experience delivering large scale complex IT projects and programs for the business.

Demonstrable skills in the following:

Must have 3-5 years relevant experience within PMO or BA background.

Job Position: PMO (Banking & Financial Domain)

Duration: 1 year contract with possible extension/conversion

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid, 3x a week onsite)

Pay Rate: $70/hr W2 and $80/hr Independent Corp

Coordinating the compilation of project management reports

Closely work with the program manager and project managers to provide project management support

Works closely with the PMO team to provide project management support/guidance on established processes

Provide Project Central support for the PMO including new project set up, security role changes, documentation management

5+ years of experience in a role as PMO coordinator or project manager

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

• Project Management certifications e.g. PMP or equivalent a strong plus

• Up to 5 years of relevant industry experience

• Working knowledge of Markets business and products (FICC and Equities) and / or regulatory capital

• Experience analyzing large datasets using SQL, Python, a plus

Market Risk and Regulatory related

Program management knowledge and experience

Responsible for billability of project management team

Bachelor's degree or equivalent education plus professional experience required

Delivery and management of technical and strategic projects and programs

Advanced reporting and program-level financial management

Deliver and manage technical and strategic project/programs

Co-ordinating the compilation of project management reports

Review, enhance, implement document control process

Schedule and organize departmental meetings

Minimum of 5+ years of Business Management and PMO experience.

Excellent people management skills; including the ability to influence, negotiate and achieve results through others who are not direct reports.

Previous experience with financial and resource management tools (i.e.; Serena IG, TM1, People Tracker, etc.).

Interface with Project Managers on project costing, budgeting, resource management, and work effort tracking.

Understanding of technology principles and services including infrastructure, business applications, data management, security, application platforms, and consumer-facing technology.

Prior experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
