They are responsible for a variety of tasks, including scheduling appointments, taking patient histories, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with minor medical procedures. They must be knowledgeable about medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and medical office procedures. They must also be able to use medical office equipment, such as computers, fax machines, and copiers. Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• Previous experience in a medical office setting
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and medical office procedures
• Knowledge of medical office equipment, such as computers, fax machines, and copiers
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
Job Experience
• Previous experience in a medical office setting
• Previous experience with scheduling appointments and taking patient histories
• Previous experience with preparing exam rooms and assisting with minor medical procedures
