QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Excellent time-management, problem-solving, and problem-prevention skills; a positive, solution-oriented approach to addressing challenges.

In conjunction with the Education Coordinator, manage the scheduling and administration of the docent program.

Ability to adhere to Museum policies and to support management decisions in a positive, professional manner.

Demonstrated passion for intergenerational learning, K-12 Education, and informal education.

Experience and positive outcomes in working with or managing intergenerational volunteers.

Actively participate in training programs to improve knowledge of the museum, security best practices, and customer service skills.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Provide knowledge of museum exhibitions, events, and the surrounding area to visitors.

At least one year of previous experience in a museum or other cultural organization

Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills

Educational background or interest in the visual arts, history, or cultural and historic preservation of objects
