Philanthropy Writer Jobs

Manage the Philanthropy team's inventory of office supplies, letterhead, envelopes, swag, and other printed materials.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

One to two years directly related work experience.

Raiser's Edge database experience is a plus, but not required.

Strong verbal and written communication, follow-through, and organizational skills.

Complete logistical tasks for research proposals, internal and external research events, and research management.

Maintaining rigorous standards without losing sight of context and lived experience

Experience conducting research cleaning and analysis tasks using statistical software

Proficiency with document management, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5 years related experience OR equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Experience researching, analyzing, interpreting, and compiling technical information from divergent sources. Interviewing skills a plus.

Experience presenting to diverse audiences; multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated.

Excellent writing and proofreading skills.

Experience writing successful funding proposals to individual donors and foundations.

College degree preferred but not required; education beyond high school may count toward experience

Excellent organizational skills, accomplishing work efficiently with accurate results within a complex and fast-paced environment

Skill with writing, proofreading, formatting, and editing data and business documents is helpful

Manages invoice payments, processing credit card and purchase card payments, and travel reimbursements for the department.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and ability to work independently to meet deadlines

Adept at problem solving and willing to ask questions and to take initiative with minimal supervision

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Track and report on project status using shared project management tools

Nonprofit fundraising experience or knowledge

Stewardship: Develop content for giving club communications, acknowledgement letters, impact reports, and personal notes

Develop and maintain knowledge of Fred Hutch’s work, funding priorities, and fundraising opportunities

Three or more years of formal writing experience
