Performing Arts Programming Assistant Jobs in Iowa

Management of time and materials to maximize efficiency in fabrication.

BA/BFA degree in theatrical production for theatre, dance and/or opera or equivalent educational and professional experience.

1-2 years of experience in scenery fabrication.

Experience with foam carving and shaping.

Experience with finish carpentry including trim work, milling and shaping.

Experience in training and mentoring students in theatrical construction techniques.

Incredible time management and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle multiple competing priorities.

Establish, build, and proactively maintain positive relationships with producers, creators, agents, managers, and industry representatives.

Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.

Contacts agents/producers for potential holds, drafts and submits offers while coordinating availability of artists.

Works with the Finance department to provide insurance certificates for artists requiring them and reviews any insurance-related issues in contracts.

Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.

Assist with management of Artist Relations budget planning and data entry

Must have exemplary customary service and hospitality skills; experience in educational programming a plus

Assist Director in management and oversight of student employee tasks

Assist with record management of contract documents and creating production notes for advancing events

Must possess a valid driver’s license & be able to pass the university 12-passenger van safety certification
