Overview A Peer Specialist is a mental health professional who provides support and guidance to individuals with mental health issues. They use their own personal experience to help those in need, and provide a unique perspective on mental health issues. Peer Specialists are often employed in hospitals, community mental health centers, and other mental health settings. Detailed Job Description A Peer Specialist provides support and guidance to individuals with mental health issues. They use their own personal experience to help those in need, and provide a unique perspective on mental health issues. Peer Specialists provide support to individuals in a variety of ways, including: providing emotional support, helping individuals to identify and access resources, providing education and information about mental health issues, and helping individuals to develop coping strategies. Peer Specialists also provide advocacy and support to individuals in the community. Job Skills Required
