Three (3) years of clinical experience required.

At least one (1) year of experience in a teaching hospital is preferred.

Basic Requirements for Speech Pathologist:

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Consults with parents, teachers, and other professionals regarding educational management, assessment, IEP, appropriate classroom modifications and progress of students.

Maintains eligibility file on speech impaired students and utilizes Special Education Electronic Management system for all information and ARD documentation.

Conducts assessments for students suspected of having speech and/or language impairments when referred for special education services or for re-evaluation.

Participates in campus multidisciplinary team to develop solutions for struggling general education students, as well as special education students.

Knowledge of federal and state guidelines and District policies and procedures regarding special population students’ services and programs.

Education: Master's degree from accredited college or university in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences & Disorders.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:

Completes EMR documentation of evaluations, treatment notes and re-certifications in a timely manner per departmental guidelines.

Develops programs to attain personal goals and participates in educational activities to insure further professional growth.

Experience in adult/children neurological speech and language disorders, evaluation and treatment, including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia, laryngectomy, stuttering, and voice disorders.

Experience with head and neck cancer, tracheostomies, cognition, TBI, dementia, and modified barium swallow studies.

Demonstrate knowledge of growth, development and dynamics of behavior for age-related groups cared for.

Knowledge of new computer software relating to patient treatment.

Master’s Degree, Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), ASHA.
