Responds to transport requests with a sense of urgency, meeting time delivery goals.

Ensures patient safety by following established procedures and using only approved rolling equipment.

Maintains patient's information during transport and ensures confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Collects and returns wheelchairs, stretchers, beds and various equipment to their proper locations.

Disinfects and cleans transport equipment before, after each patient use, and as required.

Maintains equipment and reports equipment needing repairs.

High school diploma, equivalent or relevant experience.

Prior patient care experience preferred

Transfer patients from their bed to a wheelchair or stretcher, and respond to the location with the appropriate equipment when required.

Transport C-Ports to the Cardiac Cath Lab

Return all equipment to proper place after transportation of patient

Must be able to independently move patients from one location of the hospital to another.

Less than 1 year 6 months previous healthcare experience preferred

Knowledge of patient lifting and handling procedures so as to minimize patient discomfort and potential for injury.

Knowledge of operating and safety procedures of patient stretchers and beds.

Transport lab specimens and equipment, such as stretchers and wheelchairs

Validate patients' identity based on established department protocol.

Remain alert to patient condition and promptly communicates changes to clinical staff.

Experience and seniority based compensation

Valid PCA/HHA certifications and required medical documentation

Extensive customer service experience and a desire to Put Patients First.

Experience in the hotel, restaurant or retail industry.

Some previous experience in food service is desirable.

High School Diploma or GED

Ability to follow simple directions.

The shift includes weekdays, weekends and holidays and requires registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund.

Transports patients and equipment to and from all locations within hospital in a timely manner.

Inspects and wipes down equipment before and after each use with approved cleaning products.

Delivers pharmacy vouchers, laboratory specimens, patient belongings, medical records and admission records to appropriate areas within hospital.
