Working knowledge of applicable park regulations, ordinances, and swimming area rules.

Working knowledge of American Red Cross lifeguard training methods and techniques.

Skill in American Red Cross Lifeguard techniques.

Skill in administering CPR and First Aid.

Skill in preparing and completing reports.

Ability to maintain a current American Red Cross Life guarding, CPR, and First Aid Certifications.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Attention to detail, strong observation skills, and commitment to quality work.

Knowledge of standard laboratory and/or field techniques and safety measures.

Knowledge of programming languages such as R, python, etc. preferred.

Experience with typical molecular biology lab equipment and techniques.

Experience optimizing DNA extractions across taxa preferred.

Must have an attention to detail, using observational skills to help effectively manage the health of the Zoo’s pollinator gardens.

Keeps walkways and paths clear of debris resulting from garden maintenance within their assigned area.

Uses hand tools, such as shovels, pruners, handsaws, to complete some tasks.

Use of hands, fingers, tools or controls.

Frequently required to stand on feet for extended period; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crawl, crouch.

Ability to communicate effectively with staff.
