Outpatient Psych Nurse Practitioner Jobs in Texas

Daily travel to post-acute facilities within your area to provide consultative psychiatric evaluations and management services

Candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ordering, interpreting and evaluating each patient to identify and assess the patient's clinical issues and health care needs.

Formulating and providing the foundation for the patient’s care plan.

Prescribing medication, modalities, or other forms of treatment.

Perform comprehensive bedside examinations as medically necessary

BLS certification from the American Heart Association required

1 year of professional nursing experience required

Knowledge of nursing functions, basic anatomy and physiology, and diagnostic procedures

Bachelor's Degree in nursing Or Associates Degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement

Or Technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement

Or Must be currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program working toward an MSN.

BLS certification from the American Heart Association required

Maintains the standards and educational requirements specific to the position,certification and licensure.

Previous psychiatric nursing experience required.SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills based on current health care practice/research.

Utilizes advanced practice knowledge to identify, prevent or solve complex and/or recurring patient care problems.

Follows and manages patients (in collaboration with TOP team) enhancing continuity of care.

Develops educational programs within area of expertise.

Current Georgia Authorization/Certification as a NP Advanced Practice Registered Professional Nurse is required

Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required

Previous experience in area of specialty preferred
