Supports cultural practices which do not harm others or interfere with plan of care regarding: Disposition of limb/body part, Blood transfusions.

Follows surgical hand scrub policy.

Prepares surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.

Follows surgical sponge, sharp, and instrument counts policy.

Demonstrate competency in all critical aspects of responsibilities through an observational competency assessment.

Assist with education and training of appropriate personnel regarding technology/equipment.

Utilize appropriate adult education principles in training others in the use of technology.

Maintain current knowledge regarding new technology, equipment, products, services through consulting with technical representatives, literature research, attending training, etc

Monitor the surgery schedule to identify posted cases with special equipment/technology needs.

Interact directly with nursing staff in determining equipment necessary.

CPR Certification within 3 months of hire

High School diploma or equivalent

Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.

Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.

PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.

Informs CSA Management on escalation status.

Field service experience, including printer knowledge and testing and/or diagnostic applications.

Frequently utilizes SAR, imPACT, RCCA and CRM, Maintenance Assist, Remote Assist & ADAM.

Assists in creating documents and inputs updated technical information to maintain knowledge database, Core Competencies/technical publications.

Advanced computer skills (networking, multi operating system, windows server, Linux etc.) preferred.

Technical certifications such as A+, Network+, or MCSE are highly desired.

Demonstrates knowledge of operational costs, participates in cost-saving strategies, and avoids wastes of supplies, resources.

Performs transport and supply responsibilities according to the performance standards.

Meets all teamwork responsibilities outlined in the PCT position description.

Organizes workflow (contributes to on-time starts, works to turnover cases as efficiently as possible); uses resources efficiently (time, materials, supplies, equipment).

Maintains stability in performance while under pressure and handles crisis and difficult situations without inappropriate emotionality.

Puts away all supplies& equipment after case.

3 or more years of work experience in healthcare surgical services and/or logistics materials management and/or project management, required.

Previous experience in LEAN or project/organizational management methodology, preferred.

Or any equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements

Ability to learn/utilize appropriate systems (QSight, OMNI, OMDirect, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, hospital OR management systems)

Reports to assigned 1-2 accounts on a daily basis, following a schedule mutually agreed upon with teammate’s manager.

Manages entire Operating Room (OR) surgical supply chain, including Owens & Minor (O&M) sales and non-distribution SKU’s.

Utilizes Meditech to view OR big board, enter documentation regarding patient information, print preference cards & utilize instrument tray management program.

Clinical experience in an Operating Room environment is desired.

Applies specialized knowledge of specialized instruments, equipment, and supplies utilized in the Operating Room.

Maintains current knowledge of procedures performed in the Operating Room.

Applies principles of safety in the performance of all responsibilities.

Applies basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology required to assist in surgical procedures.

Completes orientation with an assigned equipment Tech II, supervised by Nurse Manager and Nurse Practice Specialist and Equipment Coordinator Surgical Technologist

Uses interpersonal skill in relationships with other members of the healthcare team

Is respectful in all communication and manages conflict appropriately

Supports and shares knowledge with other members of the healthcare team

Adheres to dept of Nursing annual training requirements

Adheres to MGH mandatory training and testing requirements
