BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

One year of experience as an MA in an outpatient setting

Encinitas: 0.6 FTE: 48 hrs every 2 weeks

Triaging patients, measuring vitals, and recording information on patients’ charts

Blood draws, venipuncture, specimen collection, and completion of lab work

Administering medications and immunizations under provider direction

These responsibilities are specific to the Medical Office Assistant II.

If position is for Pediatrics, it requires minimum of one (1) year pediatric or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of the sterile techniques.

Current American Heart Association BLS Certification and Medical Office Assistant Certification required.

Recognizes and responds to acute emergency situations following established procedures.

May draw up injection solutions for immediate use upon physician orders.

Tuition Reimbursement up to $2,000 for continuing education

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum of one year work experience in a public contact job.

Certifications: Must maintain CPR certification

Knowledge: Knowledge of health care field and medical specialties. Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families.

Preferred Education: Completion of MA or CNA training program consisting of classroom and clinical training.
