Nurse Director Jobs

At least one (1) year of management experience preferred

Communicates client disease management needs to Healthcare Home Managers and staff

Time card management – manages time sheets

Maintains current knowledge of nursing practices

Works with Residential Director to identify and provide ongoing education to nursing staff

Requires effective verbal and written communication skills

3-5 years related work experience required and 0-1 years supervisory/management experience required

Provides clinical consultation to nurses or directs them to other resources.

Communicates and interprets changes in nursing practice activities and standards of care, including competency development.

Collaborates and communicates with other clinical staff to assure seamless progression of care to meet patient care needs.

Participates/ actively contributes in Faculty Hours and other quality and safety departmental initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing preferred.

Continually updates clinical knowledge and skills through formal and informal education and review of the current literature.

Manages day to day staffing based on unit-based guidelines approved by the nurse director/ACNO.

Manages resources in a changing environment by allocating resources to respond to dynamic changes in patient census and acuity.

Develops education and training for support staff and works with nurse director to integrate these groups into the larger interprofessional team

Identifies opportunities to continue to develop leaderships skills and expertise

Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required.

Ensures effective resource management, facilitation of customer service and consistent compliance with hospital operational policies and procedures.

INTAKE MANAGEMENT, NAVIGATION & HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE

Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance the patient, family and/or caregiver experience across the continuum.

Collaborate with providers, managers and executives throughout MD Anderson when selecting and monitoring national evidence-based navigation metrics and reports.

Develop, in conjunction with support staff, support groups and education programs for the patient, family and caregivers.

Establishes productivity benchmarks and documentation requirements that inform navigation program performance
