Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Participates in the certification requirements for an OSA under iJACHPO.

Anticipates the needs of the ophthalmologist and other team members with respect to the requirements for the ophthalmological surgeries.

Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy.

5 months to complete the International Joint Commission on Allied Health Professional in Ophthalmology- Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant Certification.

Current certification as an Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant through IJACAHPO.

Experience/Education Combination. Equivalent combination of experience and education are qualifying for entry level for which both education and experience are acceptable

Education. One year above high school;

Advanced knowledge of medical terminology due to the technical nature of language utilized by clinicians.
